Baseball

Baseball is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams, typically consisting of nine players each. The game takes place on a diamond-shaped field with four bases arranged in a square. The objective is for one team, known as the batting team, to score runs by hitting a pitched ball with a bat and running around the bases, while the other team, called the fielding team, aims to prevent runs from being scored by getting batters or runners out through various methods, such as catching fly balls, throwing to bases, or tagging runners. A run is scored when a player successfully reaches home plate after touching each of the four bases in order. Baseball is known for its strategic and statistical elements, as well as its cultural significance, particularly in the United States, where it is often referred to as America’s pastime. The game is governed by a standardized set of rules and is characterized by its unique terminology, structure, and historical development.
