Social Psychology

Social psychology is the scientific study of how individuals think, feel, and behave in social contexts. It examines the influence of social factors, such as group dynamics, social perception, and interpersonal relationships, on individual behaviors and mental processes. Social psychologists explore topics such as conformity, obedience, aggression, prejudice, and relationships, investigating how people’s thoughts and actions are affected by the presence of others, whether they’re in direct interaction or part of a larger social environment. The field combines elements of psychology and sociology, aiming to understand how social phenomena impact individual behavior and vice versa. Through various research methods, including experiments, surveys, and observational studies, social psychology seeks to reveal the underlying mechanisms of social interactions and the impact of social influence on behavior.
